You don’t think of L.A. as having much of a downtown, but it’s actually loaded with all kinds of fun city stuff. You just have to know where to go and be sure to avoid the dodgy bits.

My friend Judy from New York is in town so we spent the day being tourist. First stop, a look at the funny paintings at the MOCA museum; then lunch at a cute sidewalk cafe—Angelique Cafe; lastly a stroll through LA’s fashion district.
