Happy Easter!

Friday, March 25, 2005

Okay, I know this is not a day to rant and you probably think I’m an insufferable grouch, but here goes. Is it just me or does anybody else find this trend of combining holidays mildly disturbing? For example take the “Easter tree”— a tree fashioned like a Christmas tree, but decorated with eggs, bunnies and all sticky-sweet icons of Easter. I guess the Christmas season is just not long enough for retailers (or who ever is responsible) and the envelope gets pushed to the edge of reason. Why bother taking down your Xmas tree at all? Just leave it up and replace the decorations with whatever relevant holiday of the moment. Well my rabbit, Charlie, is not the brightest bunny on the block and it appears that he has his holidays all confused. Mmmm, poor Charlie, I knew this would come to no good. ;-)

Have a great L-O-N-G weekend everybody!

Silly, silly Girl. Easter isn't about eggs and trees. Once again just like Christmas the true meaning has been lost in the all encompassing world of commercialism. Happy Easter anyway. Spring is now just around the last snow pile.

That's an eggsellent idea! A tree year round! Well, I think the holidays take a little from this and that. I've seen trees in front yards with eggs hanging from them for years. I haven't, yet, seen Easter lights yet. And only in the past 2 or 3 years have I seen Halloween lights :)

By the by, love the bunny!
