No, not Andrew—tee-hee. I’m not much of a seamstress and this is the first time I’ve ever sewn anything as complicated as a shirt. This urge to sew struck in the most unusual place—Hawaii. Fooled you huh? You thought we spent the whole week lulling on sandy beaches drinking Mai Tais. Wrong! We spent an hour or so browsing The Kapaia Stitchery, a popular quilting supply shop on the island. Our guide book said it was a good place to go to buy unique handmade souvenirs of Hawaii. I was hoping to find a “completed” cross-stitch of the islands to hang on the wall. What can I say, I got side tracked by all gorgeous aloha fabrics and patterns. I thought “how hard can it be”. Only two months later and viola a completed shirt. Next project: the happi coat (pronounced hop-pea) a Japanese-style robe.

Nice shirt, shame about the model!
Yes, the model is lovely, but I can't wait to see the Japanese robe you make next. :)
