Weird Wednesday

On the right, the divine Ms. Almaraz looks every inch the “Movie Producer Lady”. On the left, the beautiful and talented Rina Fernandez actor/producer at Bella Donna Films.
Although, my posting today isn’t actually weird it did take place in Hollywood which is otherwise known as “Hollyweird”—hooray for Hollyweird.
Last night, Andrew and I were fortunate enough to be invited to a screening of three short films produced by independent, female producers. The event: “Women In Hollywood” took place at an interesting hybrid club-cinema-restaurant establishment called Cinespace.
Two of the short films presented, Jayson and La Puta were co-produced/directed/written by Iris Almaraz of Bella Donna Films. Iris is an acquaintance of ours that we met through mutal friends a few years back.
When I first met Iris she was a frustrated film maker with plenty of great ideas, but no scheme to bring her dreams to fruition. Even short films are a huge undertaking and it makes you wonder how a film ever gets made at all. Luckily, this lady has major determination and with other like minded individuals managed to eek out two charming shorts with very little resources. Bravo Iris and everybody at Bella Donna Films!

Hi everyone, my name is Bryan Ríos, this is an interesting blog, since Bruce Almighty came out, my father and other relatives told me that Rina Fernandez is my cousin, that's so cool, isn't it? It's just that we haven't been introduced, That's true, if you don't believe me, tell her to call her uncle Eduardo and make sure Eduardo has a son with my name. Bye for now!
