An Eerie Glow: Burbank Wildfires
Friday, September 30, 2005
Trees lining our street are glowing with a strange light.
The fire department toils away trying to contain the fires.
View from the second floor of our building.
One of the wildfires burning away in Southern California is approximately three miles from our home. I'm not worried about our safety, but the place does smell like a giant campfire depending on which way the wind blows. Luckily, my asthma is well controlled and I have not felt any ill effects from the smoke.
According to the Los Angeles Times two SuperScoopers (dive bombers) from Canada have been called into service to help fight the wildfire.

HI Deb,
That looks a little too close for comfort! Cool picture of the trees.
Cheers
