It's Not Honeysuckle and that's no Bull

I have to tell you I'm not one of those people who take it upon themselves to learn the local foliage. This is especially true since moving to Southern California almost seven years ago. For instance, just today I've learned that the name of this sweet-smelling plant (that grows all over the place) is Night Flowering Jasmine. For seven years I've been telling unsuspecting folks, namely my husband, that the flower was called Honeysuckle. I have no clue how I came up with Honeysuckle since I wouldn't be able to identify that flower in a line-up either. This is all very disconcerting. Can it be true? I've become one of those people who make stuff up?
