After the rather intense Yoga Teachers Training I’m ready to go back to art classes. This time I’m going to try out Art Center at Night. Art Center is a private art college with an excellent reputation and the tuition to match. The night school is still expensive, but it lets someone like me (the non-committal) give it a try without having to break the kitty.

Here’s a description of the class I plan to take.

Composition and Drawing

This course provides an introduction to figure drawing and composition for beginning students in all majors who want to develop sound drawing and observational skills. In addition to learning the basics of drawing, foreshortening, composition and lighting, you will have the chance to study how the skeletal structure and musculature affect mechanical function and form, the role of drawing in conceptual development (rough, comp, finish), and how art history informs your work.
